Toil and Trouble [XXXHOLiC/Harry Potter; English]
Title: Toil and Trouble
Rating: G
Genre: Genfic/Humour
Characters: Kimihiro, Harry, Yuuko and plenty of extras.
Pairings: Mentions of Harry/Ginny, implied Clow/Yuuko
Summary: In which Harry Potter has to deal with a certain Witch of Dimension and Kimihiro Watanuki has to deal with an entire Wizarding World.
Notes: Written for the Vice Versa challenge.
First of all, Kimihiro is Toil and Harry is Trouble, of course. :P
I had a lot of fun writing this. It's very different from all my other crossovers: this isn't a "missing scene" that may or may not have happened. This has absolutely no hopes of being canon, even if it manages not to contradict anything already published. I'm also taking advantage of the fact that we don't know exactly when HOLiC is set.
As usual, Clow isn't quite there but he's still all over the place. I wanted to keep the crack out of this, so there are no direct mentions to the usual They Are All Related theories - but the hints are there if you look for them. ;)
It's also the first time I write in Harry's point of view since HBP. That was interesting. Notice the not-so-subtle "in defence of Dumbledore" paragraph.
I wish I could have given Kimihiro a whole guided tour of Hogwarts, with everything from Thestrals to Moaning Myrtle, but it didn't fit in. :( At least I found space for Luna; she would get along with him, mostly for the same reasons she gets along with Harry. They're all on the same wavelength.
And, last but not least, imagining Harry fighting with Mokona in Yuuko's kitchen and wearing Kimihiro's frilly apron is so easy that it's frightening.
