Surprise Attacks [Card Captor Sakura; English]
Title: Surprise Attacks
Rating: G
Genre: Fluffy humour
Characters: Kero and Clow
Summary: Never trust a bored Sun Guardian.
Notes: Written for
tsukimineshrine's "Summer Boredom" challenge.
Cerberus stood up, annoyed, after many attempts to make himself comfortable. On days like this, that was close to impossible.
He couldn't stand the heat. It put him in a bad mood. Since he couldn't take it out on the weather, he settled for the indirect culprit: the maniac who had given him fur.
His master was in his study, his gaze fixed on a book where he was writing some quick notes. Cerberus grinned to himself. Foresight or not, when Clow was focused on something, the world might crumble around him and he wouldn't even notice.
It was a perfect opportunity. With stealthy moves, he approached the desk from the side until he was at the right distance - and pounced.
He might have overdone it a little, he thought when he realized that both master and book were now beneath him on the other side of the chair. Clow looked like he was trying very hard not to laugh; in any case, his 'angry' face wasn't convincing at all.
"I was working, Cerberus," he said, in that calm tone of voice he used when someone was about to get in trouble.
"Well, I was bored," his Guardian replied.
"That is hardly an excuse. Get off."
"You use it as an excuse. All the time," Cerberus pointed out as he stepped away.
"But I don't pounce on people, do I?" said Clow, sitting up. "What do you want?"
"I told you. I'm bored!"
"And I told you I was working," the wizard reminded him. "Why don't you take a nap?"
"I can't. It's too hot to sleep."
"Yue is sleeping."
"Yeah, big surprise," Cerberus snorted. "C'mon, let's do something fun! You can work later."
His master let out a deep sigh.
"All right," he agreed. "What do you want to do?"
The lion looked at him thoughtfully for a few moments. Then he grinned.
"I don't know," he admitted.
Clow's smile turned dangerous.
"Well, considering you interrupted my work for... ah, nothing," he said, "we could always play Catch The Ticklish Guardian."
Cerberus could tell when it was time to run away.

The line "Foresight or not, when Clow was focused on something, the world might crumble around him and he wouldn't even notice." reminded me of myself more than I generally like to acknowledge to the public. ._.
