Princess Tutu
Charon + Uzura, the day she was born
Charon didn't know how it had happened. Perhaps there was some kind of magic in Edel's ashes. Perhaps it was in the way Fakir had cared for her remains and brought them home. Perhaps, he dared to think, it was his own love while he was working that had caused it. Chances were he would never find out.
But he did know, because he had learned that long ago, that some things were not meant to be understood. They just happened. All one could do was accept them, and be grateful when they were good.
This was most definitely a good thing.
"What's this-zura?" the little girl asked, pointing at a chair, or a window, or a flower vase. Charon followed her around the house, explaining everything as best he could. It was strangely difficult to word things in a way that a curious child who had never seen the world would understand. Human children, after all, had some time to get used to their surroundings before they reached the stage where they started asking questions about everything. Uzura had simply woken up.
It was going to be quite a difficult job, living with this one. Charon had never had to deal with such a young child. since Fakir had already been a bit older by the time he adopted him. Although, the more he watched Uzura run around the house with her little drum and her constant questions, the more he thought that previous experience wouldn't do any good even if he had some. She was quite a special case.
But she had won his heart immediately. That was undeniable. She even made Fakir smile a little, as he watched them with his arms crossed and trying very hard to pretend that he didn't care.
Charon let a smile of his own show as he walked next to the amazed Uzura, and prepared himself to explain what 'family' meant.
why is a raven like a writing desk?
"This doesn't make sense at all," Fakir muttered. Autor gave him a stern look, arms crossed, as if he was one of their professors instead of just another boy his age.
"It doesn't have to make sense," he said. "It only has to be inspiring. If you can't find it in yourself to write the story, then you should start by at least trying to write anything at all."
"I can't just write anything! This is only a waste of time-"
"It's an exercise," Autor interrupted. "You of all people should understand that. Aren't you a ballet student, after all? Aren't you used to practice the basics constantly before you are ready for a real dance?"
"But..."
"This is exactly the same. Now think about that exercise and write."
Fakir only managed not to punch him in the face out of sheer sense of duty. Reluctantly, he sat down and grabbed the quill, still unsure of what to write or even where to start. What kind of ridiculous idea was this, anyway? Couldn't Autor at least have come up with an exercise that made a bit more sense?
"Why is a raven like a writing desk?" he muttered under his breath, trying to come up with something remotely coherent to say about that. "Because they both give far too much trouble, that's why."
something about the ballet teacher
He liked to think he made a difference in their lives. At least for some of them; at least a little bit. Just like talking to his hero that one time had marked him, he liked to believe that he might be able to help someone else in a similar way.
He was no Nyadinsky, of course, he knew that much. But he had the advantage of time and constancy. Perhaps some of his students found his talks annoying... That was something he expected, and he didn't truly mind. Surely not all of his efforts would be lost. It wasn't that he wanted to be remembered, after all, not exactly. Well, of course he would like it if that happened, he couldn't deny that. But as a teacher, what he really wanted was to help his students, whether they understood that at the moment or not.
And so he liked to believe that when he spoke to Mytho about love, or to Duck about confidence, his words reached them further than they showed.
Ace Attorney
Nick+Trucy. "Hello, little girl, what are you doing all alone here?"
She really was adorable, he thought. It wasn't just his bias. It had to be an objective fact that Trucy was the cutest little girl in the world, and anyone who didn't see that was hopelessly crazy. It was amazing, how easily she had won his heart. It made it even more unbelievable that she was here with him in the first place.
Not that he was complaining about such a blessing, certainly not. It just made him wonder how she felt about all this. She looked happy enough, at least on the outside, but still...
He watched her through the store's large window pane, as he paid for the groceries (it was beginning to get more and more difficult, but that was an entirely different problem, and he chose not to focus on it right now). She looked so serious and concentrated, playing with the cheap deck of cards he'd got her earlier that morning. Probably practicing another trick, he thought. She really was good at it.
At least she was lucky in that one respect. It might still turn out to be useful for her.
"Hello, little girl," he said playfully, as he left the store at last. "What are you doing all alone here?"
"I'm not alone," she laughed, taking his hand as she followed him home. "I'm with you, Daddy!"
Well, he thought, that was one less thing to worry about.

Chagum+Balsa. "Look, Balsa, I got these two for the price of one!"
"Balsa! Balsa, look what I got!"
She looked up from her work, with that small smile that she found so hard to contain whenever she heard the boy's cheerful voice. He was running towards her now, excited. His eyes shone in delight, as it always happened whenever he discovered something new (which was still quite often), and he was carrying something in a small bag.
"What is it?"
Chagum stopped on his tracks, paused for a moment to regain his breath, and then opened the bag to show its contents.
"Is that flower wine?" Balsa asked as she peered inside.
"Two bottles of flower wine," he said proudly. "And I bought them both for the price of one. Without even Touya's help!"
Balsa couldn't hold back a small chuckle, amused by his enthusiasm. She stood up at last, and took the bag from him before she led him into the house.
"Then it's a good thing you chose to buy wine," she said. "We have to celebrate this."
Chagum's face lit up, if possible, even more.
Transformers: Animated
Blitzwing + Swindle, SALE
"What an interesting little gadget," Blitzwing said, looking thoughtfully at the weapon in his hands. "As deadly as it looks, I assume?"
Swindle's bright smile became, if possible, even wider.
"And much more!" he exclaimed. "With this most excellent choice, you'll always be prepared to give their just desserts to those pesky Autobots - or anyone you see fit! Besides, as a one-time offer, I am selling this magnificent weapon at bargain price and with the best financing options. All I need is your name, and--"
"And direct access to my credits?" Blitzwing finished for him, his voice dripping with cold contempt, right before he hit the opposite end of the spectrum. "You think I'd fall for that, you little glitch-head? How about some direct access to my fists?"
"Oh, no need for that, no need at all!" Swindle said quickly, always smiling even as he moved backwards just in case. "I just think you should consider the deal. Beautiful weapon, perfect condition - you'll find a use for it in no time!"
That made Blitzwing pause - just enough for the other bot to wonder if he hadn't just made the worst possible suggestion - but fortunately he did seem to calm down.
"Hmm. It could turn out to be useful," he admitted. "And it's so pretty, too! Don't you think it looks good with my wings?"
"As if it had been made for you," Swindle assured him. "Now, if we could only sort out the tiny detail of access..."
"Ooooh, yes, of course!" he exclaimed, red grin wide in delight. "The name is Starscream~"

Sokka/Suki, the Kyoshi Warriors are a close-knit bunch
"You know, when you said the Kyoshi warriors kept no secrets from each other, I didn't think that included stuff about your boyfriend."
"Oh, come on, Sokka. How can you even tell they were laughing about you?" Suki said, in a tone that tried to be soothing, but with a mischievous grin that didn't match her words at all. Her boyfriend did not appreciate this.
"Because they were pointing at me! And giggling! A lot!" he exclaimed. "What did you tell them?"
Suki knew she should be more mature, she really did, but she just couldn't hold back a smirk
"Do you really want to know?"
"… no."
"It's not that bad, anyway," she added, her expression softening – but only for a second. "I mean, it can't get worse than when all the girls saw you wearing a dress."
"It's a warrior's uniform!"
"When you are wearing it? It's a dress."
Sokka didn't bother to deign that with an answer.

Luna gets stranded and meets PEOPLE
"So, Luna, huh? That's a strange name."
"Oh, that's because it's not a name from this world," she explained, staring at a boarcupine that walked nearby. "I come from an alternate dimension."
"Riiiight," Sokka sighed. Aang gave him a stern look.
"What's so hard to believe about that? You've been in another world, haven't you?"
"That was the spirit world! It's different!"
"Spirit world?" Luna repeated, and this time she did look up in interest. "We don't have that where I come from. How is it like?"
"Well… it's hard to describe," said Aang. "But shouldn't we try to figure out where you come from? I mean, to see if we can get you back there somehow?"
"Oh, no, don't worry about that. I've been traveling between worlds for a long time now."
"Really."
"Sokka, stop being like that."
"Hey, why do you only tell me that? Katara doesn't believe her either!"
"What? I never said that!"
"You never said anything," her brother pointed out. "And look at your expression!"
"I'm sorry," said Aang. "I'm sure they'll believe you. Eventually. And Toph and I do, right?"
"Don't ask me how it works, but she is telling the truth," said Toph. "So either she's from a different world, or she's totally crazy."
Sokka and Katara exchanged looks. Aang did his best to ignore them. Luna didn't seem to mind.
"So," she said, "what kind of animals do you have here?"
"… wait. You like science?" Sokka asked. Luna beamed at him.
"Of course!"
"My new best friend!"
"Great," sighed Toph. "Now he's got an excuse to never shut up."
